This is an excellent piece of music to use when first introducing your class to part-singing. Ruth Watson Henderson has captured the essence of this beautiful poem by chief Dan George which will be most appropriate sung in churches and on concert platforms.

Swedish Folk-Thomas Bell has set this Swedish melody for treble chorus with piano. The accompaniment 'ripples' up and down the piano imitating the movement of water and the chorus sings above as if sailing on the water. It would work well for trebles (even boy choir) of all ages.

The original SAB setting (HMC720) of this piece is one of Carl Nygard's most successful publications. Set here for SSA treble voices with piano try it with junior or high school voices or even adults. It would be great on an American music program.

Dennis Shrock edited this fifteenth century piece with words (in Latin) from the Song of Solomon for the Choral Tradition Series. It is fairly easy and makes for a good concert piece.
