March, Waltz, And Polka were first composed in 1915 as a collection of three Piano duets, Three Easy Pieces, by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. They were written for the composer to playwith his children as they were learning the Piano, so had a considerably easier second part. They have been arranged for Clarinet and Piano by the American musician Ray Jackendoff, a Professor of Linguistics who has also had awide-ranging performance career s a classical clarinettist. Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) was born and brought up in Saint Petersburg, before settling first in Paris and finally in America.
