- Bodo Vosshenrich Electrola Ergo Electric Viola 40,5cm/16", electric viola featuring a swinging and completely feedback-resistant body, made by master luthier Bodo Vosshenrich in Southern France, top, back and sides are made of perforated high quality aluminium, the instrument features soundpost, bassbar and a wooden bridge, wooden parts and aluminium elements are assembled by the use of epoxy-glue, scale length and body-length equal those of the acoustic viola whereas the weight of the Electrola is approx. 15% higher than the weight of an acoustic viola, the Electrola Ergo features a spruce fingerboard laminated with a 2mm ebony layer, Wittner finetuning pegs and an ebony tailpiece, 3 passive PDVF-foil pickups, 6,3mm mono output socket. The Electrola shows the same scale-length and dimensions as the acoustic viola, the body shape results in an enlarged swinging top that enhances the lower frequencies of the low C-string, caused by the shape of the model and the arching of the top the overall sound is characteristically viola-like.
