Tom Crown offers a wide selection of brass mutes. Each of them has different characteristics:
- The mute dry, also called "straight mute": It is the muted most used by the musicians. It offers a rich and timbre of sound and imposes itself in all musical styles.
- The muted wah-wah: It offers a surprising variety of sounds. Popularized by jazz, the sound is more dull and metallic. The central tube can be adjusted or removed. The mute then becomes "wee-zee" and the musician gets the much-needed sound of "Miles Davis".
