At first glance, this work may be eclipsed by its older sister in B major, KV 333. But Mozart's Sonata KV 570 is by the far the more popular work, especially in piano lessons. This may be due to its more moderate technical demands, on the one hand, and to the large variety of musical facets of Mozart's piano style with which this sonata comes up in relatively manageable dimensions, on the other hand. The middle movement with its rich colours of the winds seems like an orchestral movement of the later Mozart, transcribed for the piano. The Vienna Urtext Edition now presents the work in a low-priced separate edition which is suitable for lessons, studies and concert performances alike. - An ideal work for the piano lesson in a separate edition - Multifaceted example of Mozart's piano style - Moderate technical demands - Manageable dimensions / Piano
