Arlette Biget's Méthode De Flute is a method for the instrument comprised of 32 lessons for young beginners. This method is ideal for beginners aged around 8 to 12 years and can be used for 18 months to 2 years in total. The method consists of 8 groups of 4 lessons with the last one in each group comprising a review of what has been learned previously. Previous musical knowledge is not necessary for this course although it does provide the perfect starting point for beginning to study music theory at the same time. Tips on posture breathing and hand position are included but to truly get the most out of this method a teacheris required who will be able to use the lessons in the most effective way possible. This method can be used individually as well as in a group context.
