He began his career after World War II as a composer in the field of linguistic research. He contined in the theatre, with Giorgio Strehler and the Piccolo Teatro of Milan, among others; and also wrote popular songs as well as music for television and the cinema.
The pieces collected in this volume come from different phases of his career: pure linguistic research (Sei frammenti), to music for the theatre (Sei piccoli Divertimenti).
