This is another great Oliver Nelson chart (it swings like crazy!). It starts in 3/4 and then goes to 4/4 and has a wonderful feel and flow as it moves through the different sections. The piece has very limited brass ranges with some optional octave writing in the trumpet 1 part. There is solo space for alto saxophone, trumpet, piano and drums. This is the original arrangement as recorded on, "Oliver Nelson Plays Michelle" (Impulse). The instrumentation is: alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, 2 trumpets, piano, bass and drums. 3-2-4.
