I played in an improvisational music group called John Stetch and the Minds. For one gig, John wrote down ideas to improvise on for each tune. The very last one said Techno Clothing Store. This inspired the title and the drum groove in the song.
Regarding the Silent Brass, the pickup should be going through a 15vb sub octave pedal and a wah pedal. A Silent Brass must be used, not a microphone, to ensure minimal acoustical noise.
