An excellent semi-hollow guitar which provides an interesting alternative to the classic 335. The build-quality is superb and the finishing is excellent. This guitar covers all the bses from Jazz right through to hard-rock tones. An excellent instrument all-round.

Franchement, c'est une guitare exceptionnelle.
Lutherie sans reproche, finitions impeccables, sonorité exceptionnelle. bon, elle a son prix mais je l'ai comparé avec la Gibson BBking Lucille (plus de 2500euros !)et il n'y a pas photo : la réputation Gibson est très surfaite: des détails de finition qui , à ce niveau de prix, sont inacceptables.
Ce n'est pas le cas sur cette Ibanez
On peut comparer la JSM100-VT à la Yamaha SA2200BS, c'est presque la même chose mais l'ibanez est quand même un cran au dessus.
EDIT du 0ç/05/2012 : toujours impeccable. seul petit truc, j'ai noté une vibration parasite sur certaines notes. c'est dû au micro chevalet qui entre en résonance mécanique. sur certaines notes seulement.
pour le moment, j'ai provisoirement réglé ce petit souci avec un simple médiator coincé entre le capot micro et le support. On ne voit même plus le médiator, la réparation pourrait tenir des années ! Je verrai lors d'un changement de cordes. Cela doit être facile à éradiquer.

Frankly, it's an exceptional guitar. Impeccable violin making, impeccable finishes, exceptional sound. well, it has its price but I compared it with the Gibson BBking Lucille (more than 2500 euros!) and there is no photo: the Gibson reputation is very overrated: finishing details which, at this price level , are unacceptable. This is not the case on this Ibanez We can compare the JSM100-VT to the Yamaha SA2200BS, it's almost the same thing but the Ibanez is still a notch above. EDIT from 0ç/05/2012: still impeccable. only small thing, I noticed a parasitic vibration on certain notes. this is due to the bridge pickup which enters into mechanical resonance. on certain notes only. For the moment, I have temporarily resolved this little problem with a simple pick stuck between the microphone cover and the support. We can't even see the pick anymore, the repair could last for years! I'll see when changing strings. This should be easy to eradicate.

Eine tolle Gitarre! Habe die Gitarre am 04.09.2013 gekauft und konnte aus zwei Modellen wählen, beide hatten eine tolle Masserung.
Zu Hause angekommen konnte ich gleich loslegen, die Gitarre war perfekt eingestellt, die Saiten habe ich allerdings ausgetauscht für ein Set .011 von Elixir, denn die .013 Saiten sind nicht so mein Ding.
Die Sounds und das Schwingungsverhalten der Gitarre sind super, natürlich insbesondere wenn man die Musik von John Scofield mag und nachspielen möchte (mit meinem Yamaha THR10C bekomme ich einen ziemlich überzeugenden Scofield-Sound hin).
Die Verarbeitung der Gitarre ist ebenfalls klasse, gute alte japanische Wertarbeit. Wenn man im Netz mal rumschaut, wird man feststellen, das die Gitarre fast so etwas wie ein Geheimtipp ist...da kann ich mir nur anschließen!

A great guitar! I bought the guitar on September 4th, 2013 and was able to choose from two models, both of which had great grain. When I got home I was able to get started right away, the guitar was set up perfectly, but I swapped the strings for a set of .011 from Elixir because the .013 strings aren't really my thing. The sounds and vibration behavior of the guitar are great, especially if you like John Scofield's music and want to play it (I can get a pretty convincing Scofield sound with my Yamaha THR10C). The workmanship of the guitar is also great, good old Japanese workmanship. If you look around online, you'll see that the guitar is almost like an insider tip... I can only agree with that!

Toujours aussi satisfait, j'ai été surpris de la latitude qu'elle donne dans son utilisation. Elle est rentrée dans mon top 2 des guitares que j'utilise le plus.

Je l'ai depuis maintenant deux mois.
Elle fonctionne aussi bien sur du jazz que du rock ou du blues.
Le niveau de finition est incroyable, on cherche des défauts mais on n'en trouve pas. Pour moins onéreux qu'une ES.
En clean sur un Deluxe reverb elle me donne exactement ce que je cherchais sur ce type de guitares, un son chaud et rond.
Avec un peu de crunch, elle donne le son blues et rock également recherché lorsque c'est désiré.
Le prix resté élevé, mais c'est une guitare à faire beaucoup de chose et que je garderai probablement une vie !

*** Update after a year of use ***: Still satisfied, I was surprised by the latitude it gives in its use. It is in my top 2 guitars that I use the most. -------------- I've had it for two months now. It works just as well on jazz as rock or blues. The level of finish is incredible, we look for faults but we don't find any. For less expensive than an ES. Clean on a Deluxe reverb it gives me exactly what I was looking for on this type of guitar, a warm and round sound. With a little crunch, it gives the blues and rock sound also sought after when desired. The price remained high, but it's a guitar that can do a lot of things and that I will probably keep for a lifetime!
